In the cold winter of 2015 Distant Field Productions released their first feature film, Black Forest. To celebrate the occasion, they launched the Northern Frights Tour, and screened the film from town to town throughout Northern Ontario.
It was a cool rock and roll film tour, minus the live music. Once that road reached its end, the decision was made to continue the scares, and the tour turned into a fest. And that's how the Northern Frights Festival was brought to life. The first festival took place in Elliot Lake, and it was epic. It ran for twelve hours straight, in two screening rooms. Over 70 shorts were screened and six features. Pretty cool for the first outing. That was a one day fest, by they way. For our second year we moved the show to Sudbury, Ontario. Needless to say, we can't wait to bring it back for a sixth round! Looking forward to seeing you there! |
