Every year we bring the world's best horror movies to film fanatics in Northern Ontario, and every year, we use a variety of footage (call it B-Footage, if you will), to use before and after each film block and throughout the fest.
This year we thought it would be fun to open up the process and invite YOU to submit your own creepy clips for the cause! After all, we're sure you'll look killer on the big screen! Submit your clips before June 30, 2020, and if we decide to include your clip in this year's fest, we'll add you name to our draw, because we'll be giving away FIVE very cool Northern Frights Festival T-shirts! That's right, here's your chance to win one of our brand new fest shirts! As mentioned, if we decide to use your clip, your name goes in the random draw, names in a hat kind of deal. We'll pick those names in early July, and FIVE lucky winners will be mailed your very own Northern Frights Festival T-shirts! Shock your 'hood in style! |
Here's an example of one of our intros from the Evil Evening, 2018. We make cool intros and outros for all three film blocks, and the tone varies for each one. The footage for this one came from Distant Field Productions' b-footage, and features @vivyng amongst others.

Some info for you: We prefer clips between 10 seconds and 1:00 minute. You may submit multiple clips. If there's music in your video, please note that we will take it out and add our own. We add audio tracks over the entire sequence. Silent clips are best, but if you do have dialogue / screaming /etc. (and that's very cool, too), just be sure to have no music over it so we can highlight that cool dialogue or scream. We have to cut music to avoid licencing issues, and we won't be able to cut just the music, all audio would be cut in that instance. Your video will probably be edited to fit into our reel. Why submit??? If we use your clip we'll shout you out on our pages, enter your name into our T-shirt draw (see below), and give you credit during the fest (name, Instagram handle, site, whatever you like). Best of all? You get to have your clip projected on a 20 foot screen!!! (Well maybe the truly best is that you'll have a new friend in the Northern Frights Festival! Maybe?) Bring the FEAR, horror fans!!! |
